We have photographers, models, makeup artists, hair stylists, fashion designers, videographers, assistants, wardrobe stylists, Photoshop retouching artists… everyone you connect with online or meet is trying to make a name for themselves in the competitive world of fashion and portrait photography.
From talking to so many individuals over the years, artists and models, many (if not most) are looking for that big break in the competitive world of fashion and portrait photography. Its human nature. The desire to succeed. We all have that deep inside of us, don’t we?
However, desire is not enough.
The fact is: Life is not fair, never has been fair, and never will be fair. Life is not about the opportunities that come to you, it’s about the will of the individual. If you want something bad enough, you will find a way. If you don’t want something bad enough, you will find an excuse. The difference between winners and losers is that winners find solutions, whereas the losers find the excuses.
It’s these moments, it’s these decisions that we make on a daily basis… do we get up early and go to that photoshoot on the beach at sunrise when it’s cold or do we stay in our warm bed and hit the snooze button? Do we spend that extra hour at a photoshoot when are body is dying (and we’ve been standing all day) or do we push passed that? Do we apply to another modelling agency (after being rejected by 7 others) or do we just throw in the towel? All these little things are the inches that add up between 1st place and forever forgotten.
This photoshoot is with my beautiful model who gives it her all in every photoshoot. Never complains. No excuses.
Here’s the final result. Photoshoot with my model, Leila.
